How Artist fare in rough economic times.

The New York Times posed the same question to their readership and got a varied response. Read more heeeerrrreeeeee.

It seems as if the ever hopeful artist is taking this time away from the demands of money to create and sing what they want.

As quoted in the multimedia slideshow, Liz Fallon, a visual artist out of Portland, ME said, “Nobody wants me to do anything, so I’m just doing what I want.”

However, the reality of the issue is weighing on other artist like Stephanie Surton of Detroit Michigan who has been forced to teach pottery when painting is her lifes calling. “The economy is so bad right now here in Detroit, Mich., that people are not buying art, they cannot afford it,” she wrote.
Although we all know that Detroit has its own issue.
